Beautiful autumn wedding at Winters Barns venue in Kent

Feb 8, 2023

Chris and Caroline married at the stunning Kent wedding venue, Winters Barns. Their gorgeous autumn wedding was themed with dark green and white. It had been forecast to rain all day on their late October date but as often happens for weddings, the clouds parted at exactly the right times. We were able to stick to exactly their original wedding timeline.

I arrived just as the rain stopped and photographed their gorgeous rustic wedding decor, including a wooden frame for their gorgeous flower arch, handmade by Chris. In the build up to the wedding day, Caroline was very excited by the idea of images next to the ‘Winters Barns door’. It is an imposing arch surrounded by foliage which in Autumn is scattered with gorgeous berries. We weren’t disappointed and the berries were out and looking amazing.

First Look

Caroline’s bridesmaid and brides man had not seen her in the wedding dress. So when she was ready I captured their reactions to seeing her for the first time. We were also able to capture the same with her dad. I always love these moment so always check with my couples about having time in the schedule for them. The reactions are always so lovely to witness.

The Ceremony

Their ceremony was full of smiles and laughter. I loved the moment that Chris leaned forward to try and peek down the aisle to catch a glimpse of his Bride as she entered, so sweet. It was followed by a fantastic confetti shot and a relaxed drink reception, still making the most of the unexpected dry spell.

The stunning grounds at Winters made the usual beautiful back drop for both their group shots and also their wedding portraits. There is loads of choice for portrait locations here but we don’t have to spend ages walking around to get to them. It really is a wonderful Kent Wedding venue.

Celebrations

Anecdotal wedding speeches are my favourite! They really do bring an insight into the relationships between my couples and their very close family and friends. Chris and Carolines were no exception. There were tears and lot’s of laughter.

We took another time out after dinner and took advantage of the dramatic sky after big downpour, and of course made the most of the gorgeous fairy lights at Winters Barns wedding venue, prefect for some dusk portraits.

It really was an amazing, warm, smile filled wedding and I am looking forward to being back at Winters Barns really soon.
