About Me

It really isn’t about me, it’s all about you…

I know how important it is for you to get big decisions right and it doesn’t come much bigger than choosing your wedding photographer. That means giving you the chance to get to know me, my values and how I work on your day so you can decide if I am the ‘one’ to create your wedding day gallery for you to treasure forever.

So as much as I dislike talking about myself, it’s good for you to know a little bit more about me so that you can decide if you’d like us to hang out together on your wedding day.

Real love captured with warmth

Experienced & Trusted

I am a happy, laid-back person with a warm and friendly soul and am also lucky enough to have the very best job in the world. I get to fulfill my creativity, capturing beautiful moments of connection and emotion surrounded by amazing people on the happiest day of their lives.

I still have to pinch myself that I get to do this! I see all the little things; the hand squeezes, the nervous intake of breath and the glassy, tear-filled eyes. They still give me a lump in my throat even after all this time and to capture them so they last forever is the best feeling.

The majority of the work creating your stunning gallery happens in my little office at home near Sevenoaks in Kent that I share with my husband, teenage daughter, two step sons and Nell (our springer spaniel.)

Home Bird At Heart

I love being at home and I can usually be found in my slippers.

One of my favourite things is being brought a cup of tea by my husband in the morning and Nell jumping up under the covers for a cuddle. Actually I don’t think I function well at all without a cup of tea but I’m partial to a good latte too.

A pretty perfect day for me would be spent by all the family going on a lovely long dog walk with a refuelling stop at a country pub.

I absolutely love a roast dinner, in fact I feel a little compelled to make one every Sunday. It just doesn’t feel like a proper Sunday without one. And yes, Yorkshire puddings belong on any kind of roast! I’m actually just a complete foodie. We love discovering new restaurants but I’m equally happy at home in my kitchen putting something together that is usually rich and generously portioned.

The Back Story

It’s strange to think about it now, it honestly feels like a different life, but before I was a wedding photographer I was a police officer.

I joined in my early twenties and loved the challenge, helping people and the excitement. I’ve been in fights and car chases, got some horrible people off the streets but also saw some terrible things that in the end took their toll and made me really unhappy.

In the meantime, outside of work, I had photography! I’d studied it at university and it was like therapy. Eventually a spark of an idea came to me and a family portrait side hustle was born.

I’ve Never Looked Back

I’d never considered wedding photography until friends asked me to photograph their day. I was terrified but said yes and loved every second of it. It was the cliché light bulb moment and the universe shouting at me that this was what I was meant to do.

I set a five-year plan to start and build my business so that I could leave but smashed it in 18 months instead. I educated myself in business and have never looked back. I think perhaps I’m a better wedding photographer because of just how much I value being part of my couples’ happiest day. Surrounded by love, warmth and joy, it’s something I will never take for granted.

So when you see my beaming smile on your day, know that it’s genuine and that I couldn’t be more grateful for being there.

It’s what I was meant to do. x

Nicola! These are incredible!!!

Honestly we can’t thank you enough. You made it way better than we could have ever even imagined and we have had so many guests who have said how good you made them feel!

Thank you again, we are over the moon with how the photos turned out!
