Beautiful boho beach wedding at East Quay Venue in Kent

I was so excited when the enquiry from Kimberley & Joshua landed in my inbox. Their wedding sounded perfect; boho, rustic, relaxed and fun. And it was at the fantastic East Quay, a Kent wedding venue that had been on my wish list for ages.

The beach venue choice was very deliberate and Kimberley told me how much she loved being at the seaside. Even their proposal was on a headland overlooking a beach in Cornwall whilst on a family holiday. They planned to have all their closest friends and family staying in Whitstable to give their Kent wedding a mini holiday feel for the whole family.

Kimberley booked a local cottage for her preparations with her bridesmaids and bridesman which had some gorgeous details, really in keeping with its coastal location. Kimberley’s dress was absolutely stunning as were her bridesmaids dresses. They coordinated perfectly with floral palette of yellow and greens.

I loved how relaxed they both were along with their guests. They all clearly have a great time together and lots of laughs. When Josh eagerly said ‘I do’ far too early, it was welcomed with a roar of laughter from everyone.

Their laid back and super happy demeanours were rewarded with gorgeous light and a fabulous summer day, perfect for enjoying the decked area outside the venue overlooking the beach. There is definitely a rawness to the area around this shabby chic wedding venue. Just a short walk along the beach takes you to some cool beach huts, perfect for portraits.

But my favourite time of the day had to be sunset and East Quay wedding venue must have one of the best views in the county. And these two wonderful people absolutely embraced the opportunity to grab some gorgeous golden hour wedding portraits.

They hugged, smiled, kissed and laughed all the way through their portraits. Being able to capture them watching the sun set on their wedding day was really something quite special and a highlight of my wedding photography season. It even featured in Whimsical Wonderland Weddings
