With gorgeous floral displays, unique buildings, parkland, woodland and lakes, Kew Gardens really couldn’t have been a better choice of location for an engagement photography session for Rosamund and Jamie. Their Kent Wedding is booked for next year but as with so many couples, they felt that they were awkward in front of the camera ( if I had a pound for how often people say this!)  and wanted the book their engagement shoot in nice and early. That said, I am so pleased they decided to book an engagement photography session as it was such a lovely day.

I had never visited Kew Gardens before and wow, what a treat. It was in July as Covid restrictions were just starting to ease slightly and with only limited numbers allowed entry and a gorgeous sunny day, the conditions couldn’t have been better from a photographers point of view. Rosamund and Jamie had needn’t have worried about having their photographs taken. They were fantastic and just the sweetest of couples. I give small prompts to my clients, asking them to do little things or whisper to each other; to take their mind off being photographed. In minutes it was clear we were going to be just fine. Rosamund was the best giggler and you can just see the connection between them in the looks that they shared.

I loved finding out more about their Wedding plans as we wandered around the gardens. I was a very spoilt wedding photographer; I had such a variety of locations and backdrops to choose from for their couple portraits. They treated the shoot exactly as it is intended; a laid-back, fun practice and an opportunity for us to get to know each other better which as a result will undoubtedly mean them experiencing a more relaxed Wedding day and getting better Wedding photographs too. I am really looking forward to their Wedding.
