I have lived in Kent my whole life and last year was the first time I had ever heard of Allington Castle. When Niki called me and asked me to be their Wedding photographer and then told me their venue was Allington, I did a silent little happy dance on the end of the phone. It is a Medieval 12th Century Castle with weeping willows, a moat, Italian garden, Great Hall (once dined in by Henry VIII no less) and resident swans. Think Leeds Castle but smaller, more intimate, private but absolutely no less gorgeous. I’m not sure it could be more beautiful or perfect a setting for their wedding ceremony.

Niki & Nigel have been together for years but I loved Niki’s excited apprehension before the ceremony. Her gorgeous smile was infectious and her dress choice was just perfect for her. An absolute highlight for me was being lucky enough to be there when her dad, Eric, saw her in her wedding dress for the first time. The emotion and beaming pride in his eyes gave me a lump in my throat. Those are the moments you dream of as a wedding photographer.

Their ceremony didn’t disappoint either and the light in the Great Hall was divine. Despite being together for years, the looks that Niki and Nigel shared between them were like they were falling in love with each other all over again. Honestly, they couldn’t take their eyes off each other and it was so heartwarming to witness.
