Toby and Hannah’s wedding at The Secret Garden near Ashford in Kent was the perfect mix of relaxed, romantic and personal. As a Kent wedding photographer, I absolutely love photographing at this venue. It offers such a unique space, feels secluded and is perfect for a laid back celebration.
With its gorgeous gardens and cosy reception areas, The Secret Garden is ideal for couples who want their wedding day to feel personal and look stunning which suited Toby and Hannah perfectly.
Getting Married at The Secret Garden, Ashford
The Secret Garden is a unique wedding venue tucked away in the Kent countryside, just outside Ashford. It’s especially popular with couples who want a laid-back, outdoor-feel wedding in a beautiful English country garden.
What I love most about photographing weddings here is:
- The gazebo and beautiful outside ceremony area in the heart of the gardens
- Great backdrops for portraits in every direction
- The accommodating team and coordinators – you really can have your day your way
- Their indoor ceremony areas are just as beautiful offering peace of mind in wet weather
- Gorgeous spots for golden hour light
It’s a brilliant venue for natural, documentary-style wedding photography.
Toby & Hannah’s Wedding Day
Toby and Hannah wanted their day to feel super relaxed and full of genuine moments, spent with the people they love most.
They had hoped for a garden ceremony but the weather on their day had other plans. The forecast for the day was intermittent showers. It was going to be a day of a little bit of everything.
Whilst we may have been forced into the Chapel, their florals and early autumnal colour palette looked absolutely beautiful. Rain at the end of their ceremony meant we were unable to do their confetti shot. So we opted instead for the Coach House bar for their drinks reception.
Between showers we were able to capture their family groups and also some gorgeous relaxed portraits of them together.
When they booked they had been worried about having their photographs taken. They needn’t have been concerned. The combination of their sweet and trusting chemistry together and my style and calm nature created wedding portraits that were exactly what they had longed for.
After dinner the sun made an appearance and allowed us the chance for their beautiful confetti shot, their tradition of a family cricket match and also those stunning golden hour shots.
I left them a few tracks after their first dance to party their night away. It was an amazing day.
