Stunning Allington Castle wedding reception with Ceilidh
Amy & Matt’s Wedding day was 100% the closest thing I have photographed to a fairytale wedding. A vintage Rolls Royce, a private castle reception venue, absolutely beautiful florals and details, the longest wedding dress train and amazing dancing in the evening.
Amy’s loosely braided hair filled with flowers looked straight off the screen of Disney’s Rapunzel and her amazing Pronovias dress only just fit through the garden gate as she left her picture postcard cottage with her very proud Dad.
The church service was beautiful and I absolutely loved the glances that Amy & Matt shared between them. In those lovely little moments it was like there was no-one else there.
In the build up to the wedding I chatted with Amy about the decorations at Allington Castle. It seemed like she really had thought of everything and when I arrived it really didn’t disappoint. It looked amazing. We were blessed with some time before their guests arrived so headed up the gorgeous lavender path to the Italian gardens.
There really isn’t a bad backdrop to be had at this remarkable Kent wedding venue. Allington Castle is actually a private residence and numbers of weddings held here are very limited. But from the castle gates, the courtyard, the gardens, the moat and the barn, it is immaculately kept and such an incredible space.
The Great Hall held their wedding breakfast and speeches before Amy, Matt and their guests made the short but amazing stroll over the moat to the barn. I’ll admit that photographing a ceilidh has it’s challenges BUT it is so fun and you can’t help but watch with a huge smile on your face.
As the sunset behind their wedding party whilst they danced I remember feeling quite emotional. It was by far the largest wedding I had photographed since lockdown and watching that many people dancing freely and so happily in such an amazing setting was really quite special.
Those feelings soon went when Matt took my cameras from me and insisted I join in the dancing! It was exhausting but so fun and it was an amazing gesture to have been made such a part of the evening.
Take a look at the gallery of their wonderful wedding and I have to give credit to their amazing suppliers too.
