The venue is made up of two main spaces. The Buttery, which is rich in history and packed with beams, soft light and cosy charm, and the Glasshouse, a modern, light-filled space with a retractable domed roof and sleek contemporary design.
Together, they create a really lovely flow for your day – from an intimate ceremony in The Buttery to a relaxed drinks reception and evening party in the Glasshouse, with the courtyard linking everything beautifully.
It feels social, comfortable, and genuinely fun to be in – which is exactly how a wedding venue should feel.
What It’s Like Getting Married at The Buttery and Glasshouse
Weddings at The Buttery and Glasshouse tend to feel very natural and easy-going.
Ceremonies in The Buttery are always full of atmosphere – warm, emotional and personal. It is such a versatile space and every wedding I have photographed there has been so unique in style.
Then guests naturally spill out into the courtyard for drinks and canapés. It is such a great space for capturing those candid shots. You will get all those hugs and congratulations and I can take photographs of your guests having a great time.
Your wedding breakfast is held in the Glasshouse. It is a space that really brings together inside and outside and one of the standout features is the retractable roof.
As the light fades and the fairy lights come on, the whole place feels incredibly cosy and romantic without being overly formal.
The team here also need a mention. The coordinators are so lovely and nothing will be too much trouble for them in making your day perfect for you. The food is most definitely a plus too. Whether it be three courses or their signature smokehouse bbq menu, you will not be hungry.

The Buttery and Glasshouse is part of the Bull Hotel, an award winning boutique hotel. Having your accommodation right there makes such a difference to the feel of the day – everything feels calmer and more connected.
Getting ready here is always lovely. The rooms are stylish, light-filled and comfortable, which makes them perfect for relaxed morning photos. There’s no stressful travel, no rushing around – just you, your favourite people, and plenty of space to breathe and enjoy the build-up.
And you’ll be waking up the next morning surrounded by Kent countryside, heading down for breakfast with your guests still buzzing from the night before.
