A Seaside Wedding at East Quay
Claire and Samir married at the beautiful East Quay Venue in Whitstable, Kent and I was so grateful to have been their wedding photographer. Their shared love of the British seaside made the coastal town the perfect place to celebrate. With its stunning waterfront location and relaxed atmosphere, East Quay provided the ideal setting for their wedding day.
The couple embraced the seaside theme throughout their celebrations, incorporating thoughtful coastal touches into their styling and details.
An Emotional Ceremony at East Quay
They chose to get ready separately but in the same Hotel. Claire shared a lovely moments with her bridal party when she revealed her wedding dress to them. I loved their reactions. Samir was able to make the short walk to the venue when he was ready.
One of the most memorable moments of the day was Claire and Samir’s ceremony. Choosing to write and read their own vows to one another, they created an incredibly personal and emotional experience. There were plenty of tears.

Oysters, Laughter and Seaside Celebrations
The reception continued the coastal theme perfectly, with guests enjoying fresh oysters as part of the celebrations. In fact, I even tried my very first oyster during the reception! It was delicious.
The relaxed atmosphere carried throughout the day, with plenty of laughter, great conversation and the kind of easy-going celebration that suited Claire and Samir perfectly.
Relaxed Portraits by the Sea
After the ceremony, Claire and Samir took some time away from the celebrations to enjoy a few relaxed moments together. One of the things I love most about photographing weddings at East Quay is the raw but beautiful backdrops available within a short walk of the venue.
With the sea nearby and Whitstable’s unique coastal character all around, we were able to create natural, relaxed portraits that reflected both the location and their personalities. They were such a fun couple to photograph and completely embraced the experience.

Sunset Portraits at East Quay
Claire and Samir were rewarded with the most beautiful evening light. East Quay is one of my favourite locations in Kent for sunset photography, and on this particular evening it didn’t disappoint.
As the sun began to set over the coastline, we stepped outside for a few final portraits. The sun popped out through the cloud to created a stunning backdrop and provided the perfect ending to an incredible wedding day. These quiet moments together often become some of my favourite photographs from a wedding, and this was certainly no exception.
But Claire and Samir weren’t quiet for long and hit the dance floor hard for their party the remainder of the evening.
