Best of 2020 Kent Wedding Photographer

2020 had it in for Weddings.

Well, it had a go at pretty much everything didn’t it, but along with live entertainment and hospitality I think that this usually thriving, joyous, wonderful industry took a pretty big beating.

But amongst the rubble of so many couples crushed Wedding Day dreams there are pockets of joy, resilience, strength and hope. And the same can be found amongst the suppliers whose planned bumper years have been decimated.

As a Kent Wedding Photographer, my 2020 has unfolded completely differently to how I imagined it would. My friends and couples that have followed me for a while will know that I am a positive person. I have been tested this year, like so many others, but if I had to choose a word to describe my 2020 it would be grateful; for my health, home and family.

But also so grateful to be able to call this my job and have some of the most amazing clients. I have been absolutely blown away by their emotional resolve, courage, adaptability and unwavering commitment to what is important to them. They have been inspiring and heartwarming and to those that have been through the turmoil of having to postpone, some more than once, I know that you will be rewarded with the most wonderful wedding day, made all the more special for the uphill battle you fought to get there.

To those that were able to stand firm, determined to see their plans through and who had to make tough decisions about who to share their day with, you really were quite something. I was fortunate enough to be part of six weddings this year and THEY ALL ROCKED. They honestly filled my heart with joy. I have always loved photographing intimate weddings but knowing that for some I was included in a very limited permitted head count was such a privilege.

Engagement shoots have been huge for me this year. We were blessed with some stunning light and to be able to get out photographing loved-up couples in the absence of the 20 plus weddings that I had postponed was like a kind of therapy.

So I won’t be remembering 2020 just as the year of Covid. I will remember it for the smiles, joy, full hearts, emotions and love that you can see here.

Wishing you all a safe, healthy and happy Christmas and New Year x
