DIY Wedding of Becky & Omar at Love2yurt, Farthinghoe

I first spoke to Becky about their wedding day last year and I knew instantly that I wanted to be there. Their venue, nestled in the beautiful village of Farthinghoe in the south Northampton countryside was Love 2 Yurt, a luxury glamping site with four individually styled, handcrafted yurts and a wonderfully personal, lake side humanist ceremony. Becky and Omar wanted the legal bit to remain a formality, conducted a few days earlier so this celebration was 100% about them and their relationship. That’s my kind of couple. There were so many personal touches to this wedding. Her bridesmaids handpicked wild flowers from the site to decorate the picnic tables, the confetti had been made by her mum from petals from her own garden, the theme for the tables were Mario characters from their favourite game and then there was the dress which was beautifully made by Becky’s mum. It was simple yet stunning with an elegant low cut back. Worn simply with gold Havianas, it was just perfect for the feel of the day. We were blessed with sunshine but being a very prepared bride, Becky had gold Hunter wellies on standby incase of bad weather! The sunflowers added the most gorgeous burst of colour during the ceremony which was flawlessly conducted by Becky’s aunt, Joan. Handwritten vows, gorgeously unique rings, hessian bow ties and Converse shoes for the groomsmen, glitter face paint, barn dancing, mac and cheese; the list of the amazing personal touches goes on. But I can’t not mention the tower of brownies and, my personal favourite from the day, the bridal ninja bread men, a reference to their recent trip to a thai boxing fight camp, all made by none other than Becky’s mum Carol. I’m not sure there is an end to this lady’s talent. For thought, charm and individuality, this cracking DIY wedding is going to take some beating.   Dress – Becky’s mum Shoes – Havianas/ Hunter wellies/ Converse Venue – Love 2 Yurt @love2yurt Flowers – Bloomers of Brackley @bloomersofbrackley Rings – Lucy Sylvester @Lovefromengland – Olivia Ewing @Oliviaewingjewelry Bouncy castle – Bicester Bouncy castle hire Band – Odd Sox barn dance Evening food – Mac to the future @mactothefuturelondon Glitter Face painting – @calicofaces
