Why The Secret Garden in Ashford Feels So Special
This unique wedding venue is nestled within a victorian walled garden, creating a feeling of seclusion. The surrounding walls not only add a touch of charm and character to the venue, but they also provide privacy and exclusivity for your day.
The gardens are divided by paths and beautiful greenery and each area offers a slightly different feel. But it does have a sense of english country garden and like a home from home. It really is the most delightful place to while away the hours on your wedding day, enjoying the company of your nearest and dearest and soaking up the love.
The ceremony area choices mean you really can create your dream day as it offers such versatility. And the amazing team are 100% behind you building a day that works for you. There is no ‘one size fits all’ here.

Beautiful Spaces for Every Part of Your Day
At The Secret Garden you can choose to say “I do” under the wisteria covered gazebo in the garden, in the cosy Chapel, or inside the intimate Glasshouse. There’ really is a perfect ceremony space here to match your vibe whether that be a big autumnal gatherings to a closer, more intimate springtime celebration. The chapel is licensed for ceremonies with up to 90 guests and leads onto the gorgeous cobbled courtyard. The Glass House can accommodate up to 50 guests for ceremonies and 24 people for seated dining.
Your guests can dine in the original Victorian Coach House. Light pours in from the duel aspect windows looking out to the garden and the also the cobbled courtyard. More intimate weddings can dine in the Glasshouse which truly is a unique space. In the evening the Coach House can be transformed into your dance floor for you to dance the night away.
But the best bit of course has to be the gardens. Those relaxed, candid photographs of your guests enjoying the drinks reception or showering you with confetti. And your portraits during a quiet stroll around all the gorgeous areas of the garden. There really isn’t a bad backdrop to be found here. It is a dream to photograph at for a wedding photographer.
Perfect for Small, Medium & Larger Weddings
One of the things I love most about The Secret Garden in Ashford is how versatile it feels. It’s big enough for a lively celebration without losing that cosy, personal atmosphere and small weddings never feel swallowed up. The gardens aren’t so large that your guests can get lost. It also means that when we wander for your portraits we aren’t having to go too far from the party. But the separate area’s give it a sense of being secluded no matter what part of the grounds you are in.
I have photographed tiny weddings with just the couple where the venue coordinators were honoured to be asked to be their witnesses. Through to large, fun and bustling celebrations with games in the garden and guests relaxing in the sunshine and a ceilidh dance in the evening.
